I love nature, as you can tell if you've visited here before. Animals and birds bring a lot of joy into my life - both domesticated and wild animals. I put out a bird feeder or two every year in order to help all species of birds make it through the winter. Chickadees, bluejays and cardinals visit my bird feeders along with a variety of other bird species.
On our property we have raccoons and squirrels and, in the spring and fall, the less welcomed skunks. I'm not very interested in skunks because they get into garbage and Meeko, my Alaskan malamute thinks they are animals he should play with - NOT!
Please keep the love of the animals and birds in mind this year and help them winter safely. Animals and birds need food, shelter and water in order to survive the harsh climates of North America. Please do your part and provide a safe place in your yard for them to spend the winter.
Blessings,
~Mary~

I love birds and animals too. Sometimes more than people. I'll do my part in giving them food and shelter. Thanks for the reminder.

Our yard looks out onto a valley coming into town. It is very easy to see deer, coyotes, and other wild life making their way to water down the valley.
The birds share the leftover berries on our trees all winter. I just love to watch them.
I love animals too, thanks for all you do for the animals. I love you my friend.
Nan,
Thanks so much for remembering our bird and animal friends during the winter. They give us the music of nature and bring color to our gardens in all seasons.
Jackie,
How wonderrful that you can see all of God's creatures in your valley and that the birds can feast on the berries from your trees. I would love to live in an area where I could watch deer and other wildlife.
Denise,
You're such a dear. Be well soon.
Blessings to each of you.

Hey,,, I love this blog........ Why have I not seen it before? I love nature and when the sun comes out you will find me outside... I feed my birds and clean out their bird baths.. Even put warm water in them when the weather is cold... I am always looking for new bird feeders that will keep the squirrels out..... but have had not luck yet......... any suggestions?????
Denise,
The best kind of bird feeders to get to keep the squirrels out is one that is on a steel pole. The steel pole is something the squirrels cannot climb, but be sure to position it far enough from trees and the house so they cannot jump onto it. Hope this helps.
Blessings,
Mary
My kids always do their part to take care of the animals. We used to joke that we had the best fed squirrels on the block thanks to everything the kids put out on the deck!
I love watching them come and eat the goodies.
Mother,
Yes, my grandsons love to feed the squirrels here as well. We always have a bag of peanuts in the shells handy for them to put out. Bluejays and cardinals also like to feast on peanuts in the shell.
Thanks for dropping by.
Blessings,
Mary
Miss Bee and I have a place in the mountains of north Georgia. We have deer, wild turkeys, and an occasional black bear. I love it in the woods, my roots are in those mountains.
Sarge,
I'm sure your north Georgia home is beautiful. I also love the woods and was brought up in rural Ontario. I've been through Georgia several time and will be traveling through there again after Christmas, as we make our way to Florida.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I would love to see some photos of your north Georgia home sometime.
Blessings,
Mary
Mary,
You know I am right with you 100% on this. I'm glad you wrote about it. The birds especially, need those feeders kept full much more in the winter than in the summer.
I love wildlife, but I do share your sentiments about skunks! LOL
Hugs,
Tina
